Instead of doing a written blog post, I decided to do a video to give my update on the Genealogy Do-Over this past year. Read about it on my blog post from last year for the background. My focus has been a bit different than most, as my goals are to use the Do-Over as an opportunity to help me as I ensure all of my research is on the FamilySearch Family Tree. RootsMagic is an important part of the strategy so as I share the update, I’m also sharing my process.
There are a few technical glitches in the video, but I’m rolling with the flow! I hope you find it of interest! 🙂
Thanks for sharing your reasoning and your process, Taneya. I am ‘doing over’ too and next year, my plan is to be ready to share my family tree information on FamilySearch, so your video is a timely one for me.
Glad you found it helpful!
EXCELLENT video, Taneya! This helped solidify a number of thoughts that have been roaming around in the back of my mind for some time. As part of my do-over I’m going to look into a method of sharing the work that I’ve done – either on FamilySearch or another of tree-sharing web site.
Thank you! I am glad it helped and kudos for keeping an open mind to sharing. I like FamilySearch because it is free and I’m able to easily sync to it with desktop software. If you have any questions along the way just let me know. Thanks!
