Notes - BIO: Excerpt from Funeral Program: Priscilla McNair was born on June 15, 1929 in Doddsville, Mississippi to Will and Leilia Wright. She was raised in a Christian home and was one of sixteen children. Her parents and eleven siblings preceded her in death.
Priscilla received her early education in Greenwood, MS and graduated valedictorian from Stone Street High School in 1949. After graduation, she taught school for one year in Sunflower, MS. Looking for more opportunities, Priscilla moved to Chicago in 1951 and worked at Mount Sinai hospital. She met a saved young man named Fred McNair at church. They were married by Pastor Bishop E. Lenox at Greater Holy Temple on September 2, 1962.
Priscilla had a quiet strength and loved to hear a good joke and laugh. She often said, "a merry heart does good, like medicine." Priscilla was affectionately called "Sis Mac" and was was known countywide for her famous delicious yeast rolls. Sister Mac was also known for her kindness, her generosity, and her loving spirit. She often shared her resources with anyone who needed help. She was a Sunday School teacher, church secretary, missionary, deaconess, a member of the Mother's board, visited the sick and held numerous other positions throughout her sixty years of church service under the leadership of Bishop E. Lenox, Elder James Lenox, and Elder Lamont Lenox.
