  [S28] Census Mortality Schedules, 1850-1880. Month of date has September, but I am puzzled as to why she is listed as part of the family in the 1870 census record. [S1] Somebody Knows My Name (Reliability: 3). "James Koonce and wife Susan Craff married in 1860 in Craven County." According to the 1870 census, there is only one black James Koonce in Craven County and he is married to a Susan.
