    Text This 1917 newspaper article from The Daily Record newspaper of Glasgow, Scotland reports that Gosch Loy Ehlers escaped from Oddcastle Camp, but was captured back in custody. It is noted that he slightly speaks English. The camp, otherwise known as Oddcastle Union Workhouse, was used as an internment camp between 1914-1918 to prevent German and Austrian men from returning home and joining the German Military during World War I.
