    Text Remembering the Life and Legacy of Mrs. Emma Jean (McClellan) Ragan -- Mrs. Emma Jean McClellan Ragan was born August 9, 1929, to the late Gene and Manie Washington McClellan in Lincoln, Alabama.

    At an early age, Emma accepted the Lord as her personal Savior and united with Southside Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a devoted and faithful member serving in various capacities until her demise. Emma Jean was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars and she provided leadership and love to all whom she encountered.

    Our community sadly loss [sic] a pillar of strength on Thursday, September 30, 2021, when Ms. Emma Jean Ragan peacefully transitioned from this earthly world to her eternal resting place while in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones. Preceding Emma Jean in death are her husband of 51 years, Mr. Olander Ragan Sr., their son Olander Ragan, Jr., (Brenda), daughters Jacqueline Ragan and Carrie Cunningham, and great-granddaughter, Regan Cunningham.

    Emma leaves to cherish her legacy, her daughter Landa Gail (Jerome) Dixon, of Talladega, Alabama, her sons Rubin (Sharon) Ragan of Douglasville, Georgia, Brandon Ragan of Los Angeles, California, and devoted caretakers and grand-daughters Jean and iris Cunningham.

    Ms. Emma's legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she touched but especially her loving grand-children Bridgette (Dock) Stewart, Adam Cunningham, Todd (Lacey) Cunningham, Ernest (Debra) Cunningham, Ryan Ragan, Anthony (Michele) Pilot, Kenneth Warwick, Donquaries (Candy) Ragan, Rubin Ragan, Olander (Takera) Ragan, Karee Ragan, Morgyne Ragan, Damareo Simmons, Raphael Simmons, and Maria Simmons and her very special friends Mrs. Arnold and Ms. Walker along with a host of other friends and family.

    The family would like to express special thanks to S.M. Goodson Funeral Home for their special care and consideration during this time of bereavement along with everyone who has expressed their deepest condolences to the family. There will not be a repast and the family request that you extend them some privacy as they continue to grieve the loss of Ms. Emma Jean Ragan.
