Mini-Series Announcement – National Preservation Week

Each year in April, the American Library Association has National Preservation Week – a week designed to help share information and resources for preserving our collections.  Much of the emphasis is on collections in libraries, museums, and archives, though of course, we all have collections in our homes too!

Especially those of us with interests in family history.  We have important items from our families that we want to make sure are around for the long-term and there are many steps we can take to preserve them correctly.

So… this week, I thought it would be fun and helpful to run a mini-series of videos with tips, strategies, and recommendations for what you can do to preserve your family history collections.

National Preservation Week started yesterday, May 25th, so last night I did my first video. You can watch it for the first tip, below – pulling all of your information that you want to preserve, into one place.  That thumbnail looks interesting eh? There’s a reason 🙂

And, if you want to continue watching this week, you can catch me live on my public Facebook page at around 9pm Central Time each evening through May 1. If you want to be sure to be notified, you can sign up for my text notifications list too!

Enjoy!
