I am on a mission.
A mission to get as many family documents from my mother, as I can. It seems like every time I visit her, she pulls out more and more photos and papers that I did not previously know about. While I am loving it, I am also being deliberate in having regular scanning time so that I can add them to our online, permanent family archive at FOREVER.
Recently, I realized that we now have duplicates of her and her siblings’ birth certificates because my grandmother did not play – she always had their certificates on hand. LOL
And then, I pondered an interesting question. Should digitize both the certificate she ordered in 1978 and the photocopies of it?
I ultimately decided that for the digital scan, I would only keep the version that was the source of the photocopies; I kept the scan of the 1978 document itself.
What do you do? Would have done?
