A New Start for a New Year
Can you believe it? We are already entering 2023!
With the coming of a new year, I’ve been pondering what direction I want to take and I’m excited to share the result. I’ve decided to make an audacious goal for myself and I invite you to come along for the ride!
You see, for the past few years, I’ve been building an online archive to preserve my family history and in 2023, I’m ramping up those activities big time. I am committing to taking daily action each day to make progress with my archive. My archive has been fundamental to my genealogy work and is allowing me to be much more efficient and organized. So, I want to dedicate myself more fully to it and I want to help others do the same. So, I am….
Introducing #FamilyArchive365!
#FamilyArchive365 is a project where we can take small, daily action steps to create and develop our family history archives for our family’s future. As you engage in the daily posts (as few or as many as you want during the year), you will:
- create a central family history archive for your photos, videos, documents, and other files
- enhance your family history organization by adding descriptions, organizing into albums, and adding tags/labels to your files for quick access
- preserve your family history for generations via a private, permanent unique cloud-based memory-keeping platform
How Does It Work?
Here are the basic steps:
- Join my Organize Your Digital Memories Club to get started learning about the online platform I use, FOREVER, and how it works; you will also receive training and organization tips in the Club
- Each day, I will share a daily post with a small step to take
- Take action and share in the OYDM group what you did! Each week that you participate earns you a spot in a prize drawing
- If you want to share your progress online too with your family & friends, use the hashtag #FamilyArchive365
Not too bad, huh, for the opportunity to make your family history organization dreams come true? Imagine having a robust, online portal filled with your family history materials, such as your photos, videos, and documents organized to YOUR liking, fully under your control, with your records in a central, independent online “home” for reuse in your family tree online or desktop programs as needed. Or sharing with family members online, at family gatherings, and/or through family history gift giving. I am sure the experience will be as transformative for you as it has been for me.
